There are a number of factions you may come across on your adventures. Read all about them here.

The Ratfolk

The Ratfolk are a close-knit group of people who have taken up residence in the Marcheleau sewer system. While they're generally pleasant to outsiders, they can be seen as closed-off or cautious if they don't yet know you. They firmly believe that one day the water will shut off. As a result, they guard their questionable water as a coveted and valuable resource.

The Ratfolk take great joy trading for unique or otherwise unusable items.

The Key Station Gangsters

Anyone who's been in the metro long enough knows not to fuck with the Key Station Gangsters, who have staked their claim at Key Station as the lead showrunners. They control the commerce and keep a tight leash on the people living at Key Station.

You can spot a Key Station Gangster by their scavenged mafia-inspired clothing. In any other case, they might look like frumpy mob cosplayers, but don't let a Key Station Gangster hear you say something like that.

The Shadow People

Widely known as the covert branch of the Key Station Gangsters, if you're unlucky enough to see one of them, head for the hills. Dressed in black, the Shadow People very rarely show themselves, but when they do, it's because you or somebody you know has pissed off the Key Station Gangsters.

The Dwellers

Known to outsiders as The Dwellers, this group of isolationist survivors reside within one of the malls of the Marcheleau underground, which has been converted into a veritable fortress against both the undead, and other survivors. Any who venture too close to the mall are given one warning to leave; those who do not comply are fired upon without hesitation.

No trade or diplomacy has been negotiated with the people of the mall, and as such very little is known about what lies inside the walls.
